Woman gets death penalty in Pakistan over ‘blasphemous’ WhatsApp activity

A Rawalpindi court has given death penalty to a Pakistani woman on blasphemy charge under section 295C of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

The judge said the accused is also convicted under section 295-A of PPC and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 50000, read The Nation.

The accused failed to prove her innocence and is to be hanged by her neck till she is dead.

In case of default in payment of fine the convict shall undergo imprisonment of six months.
