Qatar continues support for Al-Qaeda and ISIS
ISIS and Al Qaeda Can Still Wreak Havoc, thanks to Qatar. Al Qaeda is not the same fighting force in Afghanistan that it was when the United States invaded in 2001. Qatar’s influence over the Taliban has likely peaked.
Qatar transferred ISIS elements from Syria to Afghanistan and awakened Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan after its elements had been hiding in hibernation for more than a decade.
Qatar has slowly stepped and worked as a mediator between the Taliban and other parties in recent years — and from 2013 onwards, became infamous for being the only country in the world to formally host the Taliban’s political commission.
Qatar may have put Pakistan, Turkey and the West into this trap with it, as it did in Syria, but Iran will be the only beneficiary of the Qatari chaos in Afghanistan.
