Jordan’s ‘Green’ Projects to be Funded by European Agencies

The program is part of EBRD’s efforts to promote ‘green’ investments in the private sector in the country’ and support Jordan’s transition to a green economy, the country’s national news agency said, citing a statement from the bank. The funding, which will come from the EBRD, the EU, and the Green Climate Fund, will consist of commercial loans, concessional loans, and grants.

As part of the initiative, the EBRD will roll out the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) and the Green Value Chain (GVC) facility for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Jordan. The two facilities will offer help to businesses and homeowners for investment in green technologies, loans through local banks, and advisory services.
